SCIFF is a flagship initiative of LXL Foundation and a global school-based children's film festival bringing meaningful world cinema directly into schools. Each year it reaches filmmakers from 100+ countries, receives close to 1,000 film submissions, and curates around 100 outstanding children's films for schools.

Philosophy
Film as a window into the world.
Cinema helps children understand the world beyond their immediate environment. Through curated global films they engage with diverse cultures, identities, emotions, and lived realities.
For many children from government and resource-constrained schools, SCIFF is their first meaningful exposure to international cinema. Film becomes a bridge connecting children across geographies.

How it works
A festival hosted by schools, for every child.
Hosted within school ecosystems, turning schools into cinematic learning spaces. Even government and low-resource schools participate without advanced infrastructure or high-cost cultural access.
An equity-driven cultural access movement across government schools, aspirational districts, affordable schools, rural and semi-urban communities, and private/international schools.
2026 marks SCIFF's 10th edition. In 2025 it reached 40,000+ schools in India. Collaborations include Annecy, Giffoni, Busan, Zero Plus, AniMela, and BRICS — with support from embassies of France, Australia, Canada, and Russia.
